¡Hola! I am Irma Ortiz, and I am thrilled to join the Saint Rose community as your new Spanish teacher. My journey as a military leader, mentor, and coach has shaped my approach to education, emphasizing teamwork and resilience in our students. I believe in the power of language to connect us and open doors to new cultures. My experiences as a Saint Rose mother and grandmother have deepened my commitment to nurturing young minds, and I am excited to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for all. I cannot wait to inspire our students together and embark on this wonderful journey of learning!
Hello, and welcome to Saint Rose Catholic School where I have worked as a teacher and administrator for the past twenty-five years. I believe that all students have the right to be educated in a safe and secure environment where they are exposed to stimulating content that is optimal for growth in maturity, academics, and physical, social, and spiritual attributes which will allow them to be a well-rounded individual that is able to be a successful and contributing member of society. I feel that students should be provided access to reaching their fullest potential via individual and collaborative activities where an educator acts as a guide and facilitator while providing access to information while not being the sole source of content. Much of my philosophy of education has been guided by my former educators in school who really reached out to the students and shared their love of education with them. My educational passion is in History and Social Studies and getting to know each student on an individual basis.
Hi there! I am Audrey Roza, and I am the Vice Principal and 6th Grade English Language Arts, Literature, & Math teacher here at Saint Rose Catholic School. As far back as I can remember, teaching has been my passion and what I have always wanted to do; and I am now enjoying my 13th year in education. I believe that children are our future, and as educators, it is our job to provide the necessary tools to strengthen their skills and create an educational path towards success, while having fun and making learning an adventure. Throughout my career, I have been lucky enough to teach in both the general and special education settings, allowing me to meet the individual needs of all learners. With this background, I am also able to support the students and staff here on campus as the Student Support Team {SST} Coordinator. I believe that parents are the primary educators, and I look forward to walking beside you in your child's preschool through eighth grade journey!
Hello and Welcome to SRS! I am the bookkeeper and HR among other duties, and it is a great pleasure working at a school where I can share my faith as a Catholic parishioner for 35 years. I love children and learn from them when they express their Love for God, this to me is priceless! I admire the parents for their continued sacrifice and commitment to help our school. God Bless Saint Rose Catholic School!
Hi, Welcome to Preschool! I have had the distinct honor of working with preschool aged children and their families for 35 years, 15 of those years here at St. Rose! I am the Preschool Director. This past year I had the opportunity to expand our program. We now have a preschool class and a Pre-K/TK class. I love to learn. I learn every day from my little ones and fellow team members and marvel at seeing the world through a child’s eyes. We let them be little, fill their hearts with laughter, help them grow wings, nurture their sense of wonder, inspire them to believe, provide a consistent environment with flexibility, FUN, and love them like there is NO tomorrow! Partnering with parents, community, faith, love, understanding, and forgiveness are the words that I live by at home and at school. Saint Rose is an amazing place to build a second family! Come join us!
Hi, my name is Chris Alvino, and I am thrilled to be joining St. Rose preschool team. I have been teaching preschool for over 15 years in San Luis Obispo and have loved every minute of it! There is something so special about being a child’s first experience with school. It is my joy to help them love school, make friends, and grow up as human beings.
When my husband and I relocated to Paso Robles, it was the answer to my prayers when I learned that St. Rose was hiring.
I am blessed to be the mother of two adult children. My son, Stephen (30) and my daughter, Sabrina (27) are both alumni of Old Mission School and Mission College Prep. My husband, Joe, and I were recently married, and we have two adorable Labrador Retrievers, Luna and Honey
Welcome to Saint Rose School! I can’t seem to stay away! I was once the middle school English teacher here, but I retired and moved to Oregon to be with my three adult children and two adorable granddaughters. Turns out I couldn’t quite accept retirement or the Oregon climate, so I’m back, part-time, working with the little ones here at St Rose! Preschool is where I began my teaching career many years ago, so I’ve come full circle. When I’m not at school, I love playing pickleball, hiking, entertaining, traveling, biking, baking, and reading!
Hello and welcome to Saint Rose! I am incredibly blessed to have spent the majority of my teaching career in Catholic education. As a product of Catholic education myself, I know that the community created within Catholic schools helps to foster students who have the confidence and compassion to make the world a better place. In my classroom, students actively participate in their education through hands-on activities and project-based learning. Students also prepare for the future with opportunities to develop their skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. My goal is that no matter what their futures may be, students leave Saint Rose knowing they are leaders in their community and they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Hello! My name is Denise Choboter, and I teach Second Grade at Saint Rose. I love being a part of this supportive and faith-filled community! I grew up in Vancouver, Canada, where I received my degree in English and French literature. Afterward, I got my degree in Elementary Education and taught for a year before I moved to Oregon, and then to California. In 2022, I was proud to become an American citizen.
Having been the product of a Catholic school education myself, I feel blessed to be a part of a learning environment where we can deepen our relationship with Jesus and our knowledge of the faith. Partnering with the home is essential to well-rounded, happy, and faith-filled students, especially as we celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist this year! I enjoy fostering a positive and welcoming classroom environment where my students can experience joy in learning so they can be successful in school and beyond.
Hello! My name is Sarah Munoz, and I am the Third Grade Teacher here at Saint Rose Catholic School. This is my very first year teaching, but not my first time at Saint Rose. I was blessed enough to attend this school as a student throughout my elementary and middle school years. The impact it left on my life led me to pursue education, and God presented the opportunity for me to return as a teacher. I began my studies locally at Cuesta College, and transferred to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona to complete my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I hope to continue the work of inspiring students to live in faith and do their best, as I was shown to do by my teachers while I was a student here. It is my goal to provide students with opportunities to grow in their faith and knowledge every day. My greatest joy is being able to see a student overcome a challenge or observe how far they have come. It is my priority to form genuine connections with every student and their family so that we can uplift each student to the best version of themselves. Faith and care for this community are what drive me to make that a reality whenever possible, and I hope to imbue students with those same passions in their hearts.
Hello! My name is Julie Glunz. I am the 4th Grade teacher at Saint Rose School. I am proud and blessed to be a part of the same school that my four sons attend. I am a transplant from Illinois, which is where I first began teaching at the same Catholic school that I attended as a child. I have my Masters in Education and have taught for 14 years in both the parochial and public school setting. I am beyond excited to return to my roots of Catholic education. I love incorporating my faith into teaching and belonging to a community of students, parents, and staff that share similar values, morals and appreciation of the Catholic faith. As an educator, my goal is to design lessons that are relevant to my students and provide an opportunity for students of all learning styles to experience success, curiosity, and a life-long love of learning. I look forward to engaging and supporting your child on this journey.
I am proud to say that I am beginning my 26th year at Saint Rose School. I began as a parent in 1989 and never left. Watching the children grow and learn each day is a blessing. Each student is unique and amazing in their own special way. My days are filled with hugs, laughter, love, and the most amazing smiles!
Hello! This is my first year at Saint Rose School, and I am so excited to be here! As an Instructional Assistant and Librarian, I have enjoyed getting to know all the students and supporting the teachers.
My favorite part about working at Saint Rose School is watching the students grow academically and spiritually.
I love being a part of the Saint Rose community!
I am blessed to have the opportunity to officially assist Saint Rose Catholic School’s students, faculty, and staff. I have two wonderful children attending Saint Rose School and have been involved with the Parent-Teacher Organization and various school fundraising committees, including the annual auction and drive-thru BBQ fundraiser, for the past 7 years. I am also currently a Board Member for the Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center after serving as their Executive Director a few years ago. Saint Rose School is like a second home to me and my children, and I am excited watch and help our students grow spiritually, academically, and socially.
Hello! My name is Lynn Adams, and I’m an Instructional Aid as well as the Extended Care Director at Saint Rose Catholic School. I grew up in Southern California, and recently moved back to the “Sunshine State” after many years in Washington. My love for the Church, strong belief in Catholic education, experience teaching Faith Formation and volunteering with Life Teen have all led me to St. Rose. I’m thrilled to be part of this exciting faith-filled community and working with the children!
Hello, and welcome to Saint Rose Middle School! I am Sharon Davis, and I have the privilege to teach language arts and literature in our middle school. I have taught elementary and middle school over 20 years, all at private schools in California. I also have served as a youth minister and Confirmation facilitator at St. William’s Catholic Church in Atascadero. I have a double Bachelor’s in Arts and Sciences from San Diego State University: Organizational Psychology and Business Management and Marketing. My multiple subject credential is from Chapman University. Prior to teaching I worked in the business world as a marketing executive and later as a small business owner. With teaching, I have found my previous professional work to be an advantage; especially when asked, “When will I ever use this?” In class, I encourage students to read, read, read, and write. In addition, we work on oral presentations of various types and explore the creative side of writing through poetry and stories. Teaching at Saint Rose allows me to bring the rich Catholic faith and values of Christianity into my lessons and writing assignments. While reading and writing are important, helping to form a kind, spiritual, and positive young adult is what I believe is my true job.
“When not teaching I love to travel and experience new foods and cultures, read a great book, dance, create costumes, and garden.”
Hello, I am Shannon Uribe the campus minister, leadership director, and middle school religion teacher here at Saint Rose School. As an alumnus, parent, and educator of Catholic schools, I believe deeply in Catholic education and passing on the faith. I received my bachelors from Cal State Long Beach and went on to study at Loyola Marymount University, Cal State Teach, and San Diego State. I have been blessed to teach kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade, and high school theology courses. Additionally, I have a background in youth ministry. I enjoy educating children and sharing faith with them, but assisting parents as primary educators of the faith is my greatest joy. In my time away from school, I enjoy participating in the parish and exploring the beautiful Central Coast with my husband and our three boys. Saint Rose Parish and School are an important part of why I love this area of California.
I have taught art at Saint Rose since 2010. I was also a Saint Rose parent, my son graduated in 2017(I can’t believe he is in high school already, it seems like it was yesterday that he started 1st grade at St. Rose.). I am originally from Los Angeles where I had taught art for over 14 years at my own art school in Agoura Hills — teaching children and adults. I was also a freelance illustrator and have a BFA from Art Center College of Design. I teach all grades from pre-K to 8th grade. I cover drawing basics, color theory, sculpture and printmaking. In middle school I cover these topics in depth, and we also do a claymation project. I also love learning from my students. They come up with ideas that I never thought of before. Their enthusiasm for art and learning new things inspires me as a teacher.
Hello and welcome to Saint Rose Band and music program. I have been the band teacher at Saint Rose for the last 4 years, and I have enjoyed getting to know all the great young musicians. I’m also a private music teacher based in San Luis Obispo County. I hold Bachelors of Music degree in music education from California Polytechnic University. I have studied conducting and arranging under Thomas Davies, and Krista Riggs. I’m also a professional musician and have played in a variety of ensembles on the Central Coast, including the San Luis Obispo Symphony, Opera San Luis Obispo, Symphony of the Vines, and PCPA (Pacific Conservatory Theatre). I am the founding member of Bachman’s Music Studio, a north county based multi-instrumental teaching facility, and have taught at The Fine Arts in Atascadero, Santa Margarita Elementary, and I’m currently teaching music at Cal Poly.
