Located in Paso Robles, Saint Rose Catholic School’s Kindergarten through Fifth Grade program provides a high-quality Catholic private elementary school experience in a vibrant, faith-filled environment where students are challenged to grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

Small Class Sizes & Personalized Instruction

Our self-contained elementary classrooms have a maximum of 28 students and are led by fully credentialed teachers, with four instructional assistants supporting our six elementary grade levels. These small class sizes foster strong student-teacher relationships, personalized instruction, creative learning opportunities, and full participation in a wide variety of enrichment programs.

Specials, Technology & Enrichment

Beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through Fifth Grade, students participate in our Specials program, which includes Spanish and Physical Education twice each week and Art once each week. Kindergarten through Third Grade students also enjoy weekly library classes, including the opportunity to check out and bring home library books.

Fourth and Fifth Grade students receive instruction in keyboarding and Google Workspace skills and have the opportunity to participate in our four-day-a-week before-school band program. All students in Third Grade and above are assigned a one-to-one Chromebook to support their academic progress.

Field Trips, Traditions & Student Life

Elementary students attend a minimum of four educational or service-based field trips each year, including an overnight field trip in Fourth Grade. Students also participate in many of the traditions that make Saint Rose Catholic School special, including monthly Mass, the Christmas Pageant, the Stampede to Race and Read, and our Big Buddy program.

Beginning in Third Grade, students also participate in a daily elective period with offerings that may include School Choir, Spirit and Service, STEM, Leadership, Agriculture/Gardening, Spanish, and Art.

Athletics & Extracurricular Activities

A variety of extracurricular opportunities are available for students outside the classroom. Beginning in Second Grade, students may participate in after-school activities such as Art Club and Drama Club.

Fourth and Fifth Grade students are also eligible to compete in interscholastic athletics through the 12-team Coast Valley Prep League, which offers elementary co-ed Cross Country, Soccer, and Basketball.

Faith, Character & Whole Child Education

As a private Catholic school, Saint Rose is committed to educating the whole child — mind, body, and spirit. Students are immersed daily in the teachings and values of Jesus Christ while developing strong character, leadership, and a spirit of service.

Our curriculum combines faith formation with the academic rigor that prepares students for middle school and the years beyond. Students are encouraged to think critically, act responsibly, grow creatively, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Growth in faith and citizenship is recognized each month through our Gospel Awards program, which celebrates students who exemplify our faith-based Student Learning Expectations.

Parent Partnership & Academic Progress

We believe parents are the primary educators of their children and value a strong partnership between home and school. Family involvement is encouraged through classroom volunteering, field trips, and school events.

Twice each year, teachers hold parent-teacher conferences to review academic progress, report cards, and standardized assessment data, including STAR testing administered three times each year. These conversations help teachers and families work together to support each child’s continued growth and success.

A Strong School Community

Our strong sense of community extends beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, our school and Parent Teacher Organization host a variety of family-centered events that bring students, parents, and staff together. These traditions include a Back-to-School Gathering, Community Harvest Festival, School Glow Dance, Family Movie Nights, and VIP and Special Friends Day.

It is no surprise that so many alumni families choose to return and entrust the education of the next generation to Saint Rose Catholic School.
